Leonard Ingrande is increasingly recognized as one of the most inspiring and exciting Conductors, Composers and Educators today. Leonard Ingrande, a native of San Diego, California, was the Director of Instrumental Music at Central High School, Where he has built a respected music department over the past 15 years. He is a graduate from the University of Southern California where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano and Music Education and proceeded to earn a Masters of Music in Conducting from the same University.  While attending USC, he studied piano with Bernardo Segal, Johanna Graudian and conducting with Daniel Lewis.  Mr. Ingrande also received diplomas from Loma Linda University for conducting under the mentorship of Herbert Blomstedt. Leonard attended the Cleveland Institute of Music for piano, The Aspen Music Festival for piano and conducting, and the Juilliard School of Music Extension division for conducting.Â
As a performer, Mr. Ingrande has conducted numerous Orchestras, Chamber Orchestras, Wind Ensembles, Honor Bands , Honor Orchestra and Operas, which include productions of Hansel and Gretel, Carmen, Susannah, La Divina, The Medium, The Telephone, Amahl and the Night Visitors and Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti. He has successfully conducted outstanding concert artists such as Pepe Romero, Anthony Newman, Nathaniel Rosen and David Shifrin. Mr. Ingrande will be conducting the Teatrul National De Opera si Balet, Constanta  Romania, 2023.  He has premiered works by James Hobbs, David Ward Steinman, Mark Waters and the late Paul Creston. He was selected as guest conductor for FMCMEA Intermediate Honor Orchestra and CMEA Northern California Honor Band. He has received the Who’s who Among Americas’ Teachers, Outstanding Young Men of America, Eisenhower Grant, Northwestern University Fellowship, Past President of CMEA Central Section, NCBA Educator of the year award, Band World Legion of Honor Laureate by the John Philip Sousa Foundation and in 2018 was given the  CMEA Byron Hoyt / Don Schmeer Band Educator Award.Â
