GUHSD Honors Groups
Honors groups offer the exciting opportunity to perform and learn in a more intensive and fast-paced environment. Students must successfully pass an audition to be accepted by demonstrating promising ability on their instruments.
Music Theory
Learning music theory is crucial to success in learning an instrument. It is just as important as one's own individual practice, because knowledge of music theory aids in understanding how music functions, is organized, and how it has evolved other time. Related to skills in music theory is also ear training which deals with skills such as identification and dictation of sounds.
